History of lebanon
Lebanon has had many prosperous years, it is a beautiful country full of green. However Lebanon is a very small country , when war broke out in 1975 in the capital Beirut, many people found it hard to stay. It was April 13th 1975, four Phalangist were assassinated by Palestinians. The Phalangist retaliated by blowing up a bus full of Palestinians killing 26. After that a civil war broke out. Beirut was destroyed, as many as 100 000 people were killed and 750 000 fled Lebanon as refugees to Europe, the USA or Australia,
many never to return. As many as 20 000 people are still unaccounted for from the civil war period. Not only was the civil was what made so many Lebanese people flee but the amount of invasions that occurred repeatedly. Lebanon has been invaded from Hykos, Egyptians, Hittites, Assyrians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Islamic forces, Christian Crusaders, Mamluks and Ottomans. The various invasions caused Lebanese people to sell there goods and find a better lives elsewhere.

Lebanon is made up of 6 main religions these consist of Maronite, Greek Orthodox and Melkite Greek Catholic, Druze, Sunni and Shia. The national language is Arabic, however it is found very often that many Lebanese people prefer or speak French as their second language. English is also another common language spoken in Lebanon. Religion is very important in Lebanon this is show by the wide range of religion. Lebanon has the most religions and diversity than any other middle eastern country. Since Lebanon has a high population of Islamic people
Lebanese food
Lebanese people have a wide variety of food that is today appreciated in many countries. Not only is the food appreciated but each family or city in Lebanon has its own style, or way of making food. People from Beirut, will cook and make different dishes from people in tropoli. Even though all the dishes have the same ingredients or base, people tend to pass down there personal view of the recipes. Therfore most lebanese dishes have at least 7 different ways of making them.
